Paul, an Oklahoma native, was born again in 1997 and entered the ministry preaching the Gospel the same year. Paul enrolled at Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College, now known as Randall University, in 1999, entering general studies until the Lord called him to study missions. Paul graduated Cum Laude with a BA with a Missions Emphasis in May of 2005. While at Hillsdale, Paul became best friends with and married his wife, Christina, in the winter of 2000. Upon graduating college, Paul pastored his first church, Silver City FWB Church, in Silver City, OK. Together, they have three children and have served as church-planting missionaries in the Republic of Panama after spending a year year in Costa Rica in language school learning Spanish.
After serving as missionaries, Paul and his family moved back to the U.S. Paul began pastoring Maranatha FWB Church in Ardmore, OK, in July of 2016. In March of 2020, Paul began pastoring at Southern Oaks FWB Church. His passion is discipleship training and helping believers become centered on who they are in Christ. His motto is "There's got to be more..."
Brother Dan Arnold is our longest-serving Deacon at Southern Oaks FWB Church. He, his wife Martha, and their two boys started attending in 1974 after moving to Oklahoma from Garland, TX.
Brother Dan started serving the church as a Sunday School teacher while also serving on the Christian Education Board. In 1984, he was called by the church into the role of Deacon.
According to his wife Martha, he has been a wonderful husband, a good Father, and dedicated to the Lord. He has been dedicated to Southern Oaks and serving the people of the church with a glad heart. Brother Dan Arnold is a fine example of a man of God.
Michael Grimes and his wife, Tracy, have two children and have been members of Southern Oaks for 24 years. Michael has served as a Deacon for 17 years.
Michael and Tracy have taught Sunday School for several years, and Tracy is now currently teaching our Adult SS class.
Through the years, they have held strong to the Lord's word in Proverbs 3:5. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding”.
Chuck Brown has been the worship leader at Southern Oaks since 2020. He has had a heart for God and ministry for many years. He was raised in a Free Will Baptist Church in Denison, Texas, and graduated from Randall University with an Associate degree in Church Music and a Bachelor's in Missions.
Chuck and his wife Bobbie of 29 years were foster parents for many years and have five adopted children. Having served as worship leader and/or deacon for many years in three other Free Will Baptist churches, Chuck is currently serving in both capacities at Southern Oaks.
